The Rye Brook Sustainability Committee & Port Chester Sustainability Committee will hold a Seed Swap and Giveaway Sat., Oct. 29, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at the Port Chester-Rye Brook Public Library, 1 Haseco Ave. The outdoor event will be moved indoors if there is bad weather. The Village of Rye Brook is hosting Howl-o-Ween Sat., Oct. 29, 10 a.m.-12 p.m. in Pine Ridge Park, Latonia Road. Bring your dog or other furry animal in costume. Representatives from the Humane Society of Westchester and the Girl Scouts will be on site to tell you about their great organizations.

Speaking Out Against Hate: A Port Chester-Rye Brook Community Conversation will take place Wed., Nov. 3, 6:30-8 p.m., at JFK Elementary School, 40 Olivia St., Port Chester. Learn how to stand up to acts of hate and extremism. Alexander Rosemberg of the ADL (Anti-Defamation League) will make a bilingual English-Spanish presentation, followed by small group conversations. Clay Art Center, 40 Beech St., Port Chester, will present “Winged Women” sculptures by CAC artist Susan Wortman, a Breast Cancer Awareness Month special event, with items available for purchase in the gallery and online thru Oct. 31. After a breast cancer diagnosis, Susan began this series of hand-built porcelain sculptures to heal from her cancer experience and adjust to a mastectomy with reconstruction. Representing health, strength and hope, the 50 sculptures of Susan’s Winged Women series reflect the diversity and beauty of our imperfect bodies. Fifty percent of the sale of each work will be donated to Cancer Support Team, a Westchester based non-profit that provides services to cancer patients and their families.
