Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of Atonement, will be observed from sundown Tues., Oct. 4 to sundown Wed., Oct. 5. Yom Kippur is the holiest day in Judaism and is primarily centered on atonement and repentance. It is observed by fasting, prayer as well as sin confessions. Clay Art Center, 40 Beech St., Port Chester will present The Family Portrait in the gallery and online thru Oct. 15. The exhibition explores the family unit in contemporary culture and society. The exhibition presents work from artists drawn from across the US and includes emerging and established ceramic artists and Susan Wortman: Winged Woman, Sat., Oct. 1-Oct. 31. She will present 50 pieces of her winged women series of small sculptures. A portion of the proceeds of the sale of each work of art will be donated to the Cancer Support Team.
