Tuesday was the first day of a new program offering free beach admission to residents on four Tuesdays in July and August—providing “4 Tuesdays 4 Free 4 Residents” in an effort to give back to the local community this summer.
Additionally, in conjunction with the Westchester County Bee-Line Bus System’s free summer bus fare program, Route 13 on the Bee-Line System will make a special stop at Forest and Dearborn avenues at Rye Town Park on these four Tuesdays, also free of charge.
“The Rye Town Park Commission is pleased to work cooperatively with the County of Westchester to make [Oakland] Beach more affordable for our residents,” said Rye Town Supervisor Gary Zuckerman. “The extension of the free Bee-Line bus service to Rye Town Park together with our Free Tuesdays beach admission marks an important step towards that goal.”
"Westchester County is excited to announce that the Westchester County Bee-Line Bus System will provide a special stop at Forest and Dearborn Avenues at Rye Town Park on these four Tuesdays, allowing residents to enjoy convenient transportation, free of charge, to a wonderful beach,” said County Executive George Latimer. “This is a great opportunity that will allow children and adults to take advantage of the summer and the beach sunshine. Together, let's make the most of this opportunity to give back and create memorable experiences for our residents."
On July 11, July 18, July 25, and Aug. 1, residents of the following areas were or will be admitted to the beach free of charge with proof of residency: Port Chester (10573), Rye Brook (10573), Rye City (10580) and Rye Neck (10543).
