After a jampacked homecoming weekend, the Blind Brook baseball team had a lighter schedule going into this week. Due to Saturday’s game being canceled, the Trojans only played three games, winning all three. The Trojans defeated Pleasantville, Valhalla and Tuckahoe this week, continuing their undefeated record when playing at home.

Blind Brook beat Pleasantville on Thursday, Apr. 27 in yet another thriller, winning 3-2 off a walk-off error. Zach Montone stole home off a catcher's error, winning the game. Senior Jack Vnenchak pitched for six innings, striking out 10 batters. Likewise, Vnenchak also went 2 for 3 at the plate, rallying on both offense and defense. Dean Repaci also went 1 for 2 at the plate.

The Trojans again and again show their “clutch” gene and their resilience when their back is against the wall. “Everybody eats,” said senior Zach Baruch, “everybody comes into practice knowing they got to make an impact, and that translates to the game. Each day you see someone different willing us to a win. It's what makes us a successful team.”

Blind Brook began their three-game homestand this week with a win against Valhalla 3-2 on Monday, May 1. Andrew Rogovic continued his pitching campaign, striking out 11 batters in six innings. Repaci went 1 for 3 and created two RBIs, while Zach Schneider went 1 for 2 and also picked up an RBI.

Blind Brook followed it up the next day with a much more dominant win. The Trojans defeated Tuckahoe 14-4. Asher Toll pitched for four innings, striking out six batters. Baruch went 2 for 2 at the plate, while Vnenchak went 2 for 3 at the plate. The Trojans moved to 12-3 on the season and currently stand undefeated at home.

The Trojans played Rye Neck at home after press time Wednesday, followed by another home game against North Salem after press time the next day. They will play an away game vs Briarcliff on Monday, May 8 and have a rematch with Pleasantville on Tuesday, May 9, all at 4:30 p.m. The Trojans will return home on Wednesday, May 10 to take on Westlake, also at 4:30 p.m.
