William (Bill) Masi, Jr.: Civil engineer

William (Bill) Masi Jr., 84, of Clermont, Fla., a civil engineer and former resident of Port Chester, died Apr. 20, 2023.
He was born in Port Chester, graduated from Port Chester High School and was the first in his family to graduate college—Indiana Technical College in Ft. Wayne, Ind.—with a degree in Civil Engineering in 1960.
Mr. Masi served in the Marines for six years and then worked for the NY Railroad, private engineering companies and Rockland County before moving to Florida with his family.
He took a job as Chief Engineer with Orange County, Orlando, Fla., retired from Orange County and then worked for the City of Casselberry and the South Florida Water Management District.
He was always mentoring young workers when he got a chance.
He was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.
Mr. Masi is survived by his wife Diane of 54 years and two sons, Phillip and Dale.
A memorial service will be held Sat. May 6, from 2-4 p.m. at Beckers Funeral Home in Clermont, Fla.
