Funk Salsa Urban will perform a free Summer Lawn Concert in Crawford Park, 122 N. Ridge St., Rye Brook, Fri., Sept. 8 at 8 p.m. This concert has been rescheduled from an earlier date due to weather.

The Village of Port Chester will present a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony Mon., Sept. 11 at 6 p.m. in Lyon Park, 231 Putnam Ave.

Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New Year which corresponds to the year 5784 in the Hebrew calendar, will begin at sundown Fri., Sept. 15. Rosh Hashana literally means “head of the year” featuring services in person in local synagogues by ticketed admission only for security reasons and via livestream. The holiday celebrates the birth of the world and is a time for introspection, reflection and to look back on mistakes of the past and contemplate changing for the better. It features the blowing of the shofar (ram’s horn), eating apples dipped in honey and other sweet foods for a sweet new year. Rosh Hashana begins the 10 days of repentance culminating with Yom Kippur which begins at sundown Sun., Sept. 24. Clay Art Center, 40 Beech St., Port Chester, is presenting Functional Fall--A Seat at the Table: CAC National Juried Exhibition thru Oct. 16 in the gallery and online. The exhibition is comprised of functional ceramics from more than 40 artists across the U.S. and brings everyone to the table through ceramics that serve. There will be an opening reception Sat., Sept. 9, 6-8 p.m. Meet participating artists, enjoy light refreshments and be there for the announcement of juror prizes. There will also be a one-day workshop, Inspired Surfaces, Sept. 9 with Jessica Putnam-Phillips that explores surface decoration and embellishment.
