Letter: Young resident urges voters to choose Rye Town candidates wisely

As I have matured, I have come to recognize the significant role that politics plays in our daily lives. Being a 22-year-old resident of Port Chester, I believe that it's crucial for our political landscape to align with the right beliefs to ensure a positive future for our community.

I've noticed that many of my values are being challenged, but these values are worth standing up for. Some of them being family, equal opportunity, hard work and freedom. My parents have always taught me to put these first when making decisions, which is exactly what I am looking for regarding the candidates running for office. This November, I plan to vote for Noelia Candelaria, Pat Lagana, and Alex Payan because of how closely they align with my values.

Not only I but many from my generation are tired of empty promises. We want real change; we want to see our community flourish. To anyone who aligns with these beliefs, whether my age or older, I urge you to take a closer look at these candidates as these are ones who will fight for these values. We are going to have to live with the consequences of our votes, so please vote for the things that are important to you in the long run.
