Disrupted sked wreaks havoc on the Port Chester Big 3

More than 60 local scholastic sports games were canceled in the past week due to either the rising heat index, thunderstorms, rain, Rosh Hashanah or some combination thereof wreaking havoc on the schedules of Port Chester's Big 3—football and Rams and Lady Rams soccer.
The Rams football team, for example, had its scheduled Thursday (9/14) game against Briarcliff-Hamilton canceled due to the unsafe heat index and it has yet to be rescheduled.
That means the Rams’ next game will be played Saturday (9/23) at home at 1:30 p.m. against Peekskill. And the question will be what Rams team is going to show up. Will it be the team that lost its home season opener to Tuckahoe Sept. 2 41-8 with John Pauletti scoring Port Chester's only touchdown and two-point conversion on the game's final play? Or will it be the Rams team that beat Walter Panas 21-12 Sept. 8 at home under the Friday night lights with touchdowns scored by Pauletti, new quarterback Alexis Morel and running back Scott Sullivan with the three extra points coming from Brian Aguilera.
The soccer Rams also had their schedule disrupted, throwing them off stride with losses to Roy C. Ketcham, Harrison and Yorktown before finding their touch with a 2-0 win over Fox Lane at home last Wednesday (9/13). Ramaul Morgan scored both goals off assists by Brayan Lapoyeu and Bayran Aguirre on the first goal and Nick Tellez on the second. They won their season opener against Spring Valley Sept. 5 away with two goals coming from Alexander Villa while Jorge Lopez and Daniel Cruz each scored one goal apiece with assists coming from Jostin Guallpa (2) and Andrew Palacios (1). The Rams hope to return to their winning ways Thursday (9/21) away against Lincoln at 4:45 p.m. with their next home game next Friday (9/29) against Horace Greeley at 4:45 p.m.
The Lady Rams soccer team has also been struggling with an off-kilter schedule with losses coming against Harrison (6-0), Suffern (7-0), and Mamaroneck (6-0). Their latest loss (9/12) was against Mahopac 6-0 after two earlier season wins over East Ramapo. They hope to reverse the losses in upcoming scheduled away games against Spring Valley next Friday (9/29) at 6 p.m. followed by East Ramapo (10/7) at 3 p.m. and Tappan Zee (10/13) at 6:30 p.m. Their next home game is scheduled for Oct. 21 against Poughkeepsie at 1:30 p.m.
All games are weather permitting, of course.
