The Blind Brook boys’ lacrosse team is having an impressive season, drawing attention with their skill and teamwork on the field. The players have worked hard in practice, which has translated into strong performances during games.

Guided by their coach, Jason Einaugler, the team has been well prepared for each match so far this season, showing great coordination and strategy.

Several players have made notable contributions to the team's success.

On Wednesday, Apr. 10, the Trojans played rival Westlake away at 6 p.m. The game was a tough loss for the Trojans, ending with a score of 14-8.

Ethan Carey had one goal. Hudson McRedmond had two assists. Both Michael Berman-Annunziata and Chase Katz had two goals and two assists. Tyler Taerstein had three goals and both Martin Otero and Seth Low had an assist.

The game's results left the Trojans knowing that there were many things to fix but also realizing that to fix these flaws they needed to keep up their hard work and outwork everyone.

On Thursday, Apr. 18, the boys faced Carmel at home. The Trojans faced a tough match against the Rams, resulting in a hard-fought loss. The team struggled to maintain their usual rhythm on the field and faced strong competition. The Rams’ strategy and overall finishing at the goal posed challenges the Trojans couldn't overcome.

The game ended with the Trojans losing 11-5. Seniors McRedmond and Berman-Annunziata finished the game with key involvement. McRedmond had one goal and two assists and Berman-Annunziata completed one goal. Sophomores Chase Katz and Tyler Taerstein were also key players in the game, with Taerstein scoring two goals and Katz making one assist. And lastly, one goal was scored by junior Zach Taerstein, and there was an assist by senior Martin Otero.

Overall, Carmel’s aggressive offense and solid defense made it difficult for the Trojans to find their rhythm and execute their game plan.

However, the loss served as a learning experience for the players, who were determined to bounce back stronger in their next game. The team remains focused on improving their skills and strategies to prepare for future matchups.

Although the outcome was not in Blind Brook’s favor, the boys showed heart and determination throughout the match, learning that there are still many deficits to work on.

Coach Einaugler and the team planned to review the game and any of its flaws, as usual, so the Trojans can adjust their strategies for future games.

On Friday, Apr. 19, the Trojans took on Suffern at home. Blind Brook played well after their loss to Carmel, winning 10-7. Securing a victory and showcasing their improved teamwork over the last game brought out the team's strengths.

From the start of the game, the players demonstrated better coordination and strategy, both offensively and defensively. Their well-executed plays and communication on the field helped them control the pace of the game and outwork their rivals.

Starting 8th grader Ethan Carey score one goal in the game. McRedmond ended up scoring one goal and having one assist. Captains Berman-Annunziata and Low used great teamwork, summing up with Berman having four assists and Low having one. Katz had one goal and two assists. Zach Taerstein ended up having two goals and Tyler Taerstein concluded the game with five goals, helping the Trojans succeed.

Throughout the past three games, goalie Ethan Leland has shown his efforts for the Trojans. Whether it has been a win or loss for the team, Leland has demonstrated why he is a key individual on the field, from saving goals to huddling up his teammates to speak to them. He has made a total of 63 saves during these games, saving 21 shots per game. Leland exemplifies the determination and overall motto of the Blind Brook boys’ lax team, “outwork everyone.”

This win boosted the team's confidence and showed they can persevere through any minor setbacks.

The Trojans are now looking forward to carrying this momentum into their next games.

Despite these couple of losses, the team remains open-minded and focused on their goals for the season. They are determined to use the losses as motivation to work harder in practice and rekindle their approach in upcoming matches.

The Trojans’ next match won’t be played until Saturday, Apr. 27 when they will face Dobbs Ferry at home at 1:30 p.m. followed by an away game versus Edgemont on Monday, Apr. 29, a home game against Hastings on Tuesday, Apr. 30, and an away contest versus Bronxville on Thursday, May 2, all at 4:30 p.m.
