Sharon A. Varbero, 81, a lifelong resident of Port Chester, died Aug. 19, 2024.
She was born Jan. 13, 1943 in Port Chester to Edward and Mary Burns McDermott who predeceased her.
She was also preceded in death by both her siblings—her brother John (Red) McDermott of Port Chester/Greenwich on May 11, 2000 and her sister Maureen (McDermott) Dougherty of Stamford, Conn. on July 27, 2021.
Mrs. Varbero was raised in Port Chester and graduated from Port Chester High School in 1960.
She was the widow of Joseph R. Varbero who died Oct. 15, 12014 after 34 years of marriage.
She worked as a payroll supervisor for the Rye City School District.
She is survived by her beloved daughter Michelle Bartol Kelley and her partner Donald, her beloved daughter Karen Bartol Casillas and her husband Albert; her beloved grandchildren Sara, Ashley, Vincent, Mary and Beth, a great-granddaughter, Kailani, and four nephews.
In addition to the people she left behind, her precious little Lexie, her beloved Pomeranian, misses her so; she will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Sun., Aug. 25 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc., 40 Leicester St., Port Chester. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m.
Interment is private.
