Letter: A gift to the library is a gift to us all

December 11, 2024 at 11:27 p.m.

The Friends of the Port Chester-Rye Brook Public Library invite you, our fellow residents, to lend support to our local public library this holiday season. Visit the Port Chester-Rye Brook Public Library’s website (portchester-ryebrooklibrary.org) and find the “Donate” tab in the navigation bar. There are links to fulfill wishes on the library’s wish list or to donate a book in the name of a loved one.

The library’s wish list largely consists of children’s books and nonfiction art and history volumes which the librarians have selected according to the library’s needs.

Donating a book in honor of, or in memory of, a family member or friend is a wonderful way to honor someone special. The library will purchase a book with your funds, insert a bookplate naming the recipient and add that book to the collection. We can truly leave a legacy for the entire community to appreciate.

The Friends of the Port Chester-Rye Brook Public Library want to express our appreciation for the community’s support over many years. A shared value of lifelong learning is very much alive in our community, and when we channel our shared values toward our local library, we can spark a child’s curiosity, empower all visitors with resources, and enhance the quality of life for residents of all ages.

Thank you for partnering with the Friends of the Port Chester-Rye Brook Public Library in our mission to support our local library. Happy holidays!
