Emily Groglio, 93, a longtime resident of Rye Brook, died Dec. 10, 2024.
She was born Mar. 15, 1931 in Port Chester to Louis and Margaret DeCresenzo Giorgi who predeceased her.
She was raised and educated in Port Chester, graduating in 1949 from Port Chester High School where she was a champion cheerleader.
She was married Oct. 15, 1950 at Holy Rosary Church in Port Chester to William Groglio who died May 21, 2003.
Mrs. Groglio was the office manager for Howard Yudin, MD in Rye Brook, and prior to that, she worked at Life Savers, Inc. in Port Chester.
She had been a devoted parishioner of Holy Rosary Church, a longtime devoted volunteer at United Hospital in Port Chester, a member of a quilting club and also started a long-term investment club.
She and her husband traveled all over the world for business and with family members for pleasure.
She led a very full life, took great pride in her family and will be truly missed.
She is survived by her beloved children, William Groglio and his wife Diana of Port Chester, Gregory Groglio, MD and his wife Elaine of Pearl River, La. and Shari Melillo of Port Chester; grandchildren Tiffany, Brandi, Chelsea, Flavia, Billie, Gregory, Sara, Gina, Daniel, Matthew and Nicky; great-grandchildren Presleigh, Scarlett, Steele and Emilyn; sisters Joanne Weber and husband George of Bridgeport, Conn. and Felicia Minor and husband Ira of Fort Meyers, Fla.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her grandson Charles Melillo and brother Louis Giorgi.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Wed., Dec. 18 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc., 40 Leicester St., Port Chester.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m., Thurs., Dec. 19 at Saint Paul RC Church, 84 Sherwood Ave., Greenwich, followed by interment at Saint Mary's Cemetery in Rye Brook.
