Francisco Assis De Souza (“Chico”), 63, of Port Chester, died Dec. 5, 2024 after a battle with cancer.
He is survived by his five children: Juliana Coutinho, Adriano Coutinho, Gabrielle Parenti, Matthew De Souza and Lucas De Souza and his grandson, William Parenti.
Chico enjoyed life to its fullest; he believed in no excuses and never took no for an answer and was selfless and giving to all those he loved.
He took great pride in his work and was a phenomenal carpenter at West Fair Oak for over 30 years; no detail was ever too small, and he never compromised—always striding for perfection.
On his seldom days off, you would find him on a boat with a beer in one hand and a fishing rod in another.
He loved to host bbqs, watch soccer, spoil his grandson and just make those around him happy; his smile was contagious.
He was the best dad, papa, uncle, cousin, friend or employee you could ask for.
Barbara Linnin, 75, a lifelong resident of Port Chester, died Dec. 2, 2024.
She was born Apr. 15, 1949 to James P. Linnin and Madeline Linnin, who predeceased her.
After she graduated from Port Chester High School, she went to work for AT&T in White Plains until her retirement and worked in different departments, her favorite being personnel.
She enjoyed traveling, especially cruises with her family and friends and visited numerous states including Tennessee, Florida, Arizona, and Texas.
Although she never enjoyed driving, she still took her mom, siblings and nieces on various road trips.
The family still jokes about her and a particular phrase she used when approaching roundabouts.
Barbara was an avid baker, accepting requests for special cookies on holidays and special occasions.
She was talented with a needle and thread as well and made all the dresses she wore on cruises, as well as clothes and Halloween costumes for family; her home displayed many of her framed pieces of needlework.
Barbara loved spending time with her family; gave her time freely to babysit her nieces and nephews, cherishing time teaching them crafts such as knitting and hand embroidery as well as making ornaments, creating lifelong memories.
She is survived by her siblings, Jim (Marj), Kathy (Mike) Ruocco, Tom (Jaye), Bill (Barbara) and Kerry (Frank) Rodriguez; nieces and nephew, Kelly (Matt) Beatty, Valerie (Richard) Rossbach, Kathleen Campbell, Krist-Leigh (Luis) Pico, Connor Linnin, Sierra Linnin and Aryk James Rodriguez and six great-nieces and nephews.
Per her wishes, there will be a simple graveside service with family; a Memorial Mass will be planned in the future for friends and family.
