A Red Cross Blood Drive will be held at the Port Chester Senior Center, 220 Grace Church St., Fri., Feb. 23, 12-5 p.m. Make an appointment to give blood by visiting redcrossblood.org or calling 1-800-RED CROSS. All who give blood in February will get a $20 Amazon.com gift card by email.

The Port Chester Committee for Better Government will host a Town Hall Meeting Sat., Feb. 24, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Mount Zion Baptist Church, 23 Slater St. Representatives from Village government will attend. Let your voices be heard respectfully on the Village of Port Chester, taxicabs, parking, PC Senior Center, United Hospital, housing, police, traffic safety at busy intersections and immigration. There will also be voter registration education. Coffee will be available. All are welcome.

Bethesda Baptist Church & Friends, 136 E. William St., Port Chester, will celebrate Black History Month with stories portrayed of Black Americans who made their mark on the world Sat., Feb. 24, 1 p.m. Donation: $15. Lunch catered by SuggarPlums Soul Food Restaurant. The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Humanitarian Award will be presented to Ernest B. Bolden, owner and manager Barney T. McClanahan Funeral Home.

A Curriculum and Instruction Town Hall will be held Mon., Feb. 26, 7-8:30 p.m. in the RSS Cafetorium. Dr. Michael Curtin will give a brief presentation on some of the exciting things that are happening in Blind Brook’s curriculum and instructional program. A Q&A session will follow. The Port Chester-Rye Brook Public Library, 1 Haseco Ave., Port Chester, is offering AARP Tax Assistance Thurs. & Sat. thru Apr. 13, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. by appointment. Call 914/939-6710 or visit the Information Desk in the library to make an appointment. A mask covering your nose and mouth is required while you are in the tax assistance room. Please pick up an intake form in advance at the Information Desk or arrive 1/2 hour early on your appointment day (if your appointment is after 9 a.m.). Please bring the following: a copy of last year’s federal and state income tax returns; W-2 forms showing income from your employer; any 1098 or 1099 forms (examples: 1099-R, SSA-1099); any other information concerning your income and deductions; photo ID and Social Security/ITIN cards; NYS Driver License or ID Card (NYS residents) and bank information if direct deposit of refund or withdrawal of taxes owed is desired.
