The Westchester County Mobile Shredder will be in the Port Chester Village Hall parking lot, 222 Grace Church St., Port Chester, Sat., July 13, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Residents can bring items for shredding including expired credit card statements and receipts; old tax returns or any other personal documents containing your name, address or other identifying information; pre-approved credit card applications and expired driver licenses. Shredding is on a first come, first served basis.
Rye Town Park Summer Concerts take place every Tues. at 7:30 p.m. thru Aug. 27 in the park’s pavilion at 95 Dearborn Ave., Rye. Concerts are held rain or shine and are free. The Port Chester Entertainment Committee has announced the schedule of Friday night summer concerts in Lyon Park, 7:30-9 p.m. July 12 will feature Vincent and the Delinquents (party rock). All band members grew up in Port Chester. There will also be food trucks. July 19 will feature Just 60s. Future concerts will be listed in upcoming issues. Clay Art Center, 40 Beech St., Port Chester offers Summer Camps for children ages 7-15, thru Aug. 23. Have your kids unplug with mud in half and full-day camps that will include wheel throwing, handbuilding and sculpture. Campers will craft everything from mythical creatures, animals and world culture artifacts to handmade cups, bowls and plates that your family will treasure forever. Port Chester Recreation offers a 6-Week Day Camp for children ages 5-12 (child must have completed kindergarten) from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. Mon.-Fri., thru Aug. 9 at King Street School. Children swim at Saxon Woods Pool. The youngsters participate in a variety of activities: sports, games, arts and crafts, trips, special events. Several entertainers visit the camp. Registration is online on a first come-first served basis. $100 deposit is required at time of registration with checks payable to P.C. Recreation Department. An immunization record and small photo must be submitted prior to the start of camp. Space is limited to the first 150 registered per session. Port Chester Recreation offers Cub Camp for ages 3, 4 & 5, thru Aug. 2; Mon.-Fri., 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Girl Scout House in Lyon Park. $200 per 2-week session. There will be entertainers, arts & crafts, treasure hunt, carnival and more. Parent or guardian must drop off and pick up camper.
