Blood drive at AJP on Aug. 10 in memory of Anthony G. Sotire

Maria Sotire is hosting another blood drive in her husband Anthony G. Sotire’s memory on Saturday, Aug. 10 at Anthony J. Posillipo Community Center in Rye Brook. He was the owner of Double R A Construction Corp. in Rye Brook which she continues to operate.
Anthony was a lifelong resident of Rye Town, graduating from Port Chester High School in 1976. He died Nov. 13, 2022.
Anthony was active in the community over the years as both a softball coach and player and Sunday School teacher.
“Let’s celebrate Anthony’s memory by giving back in a way that can help so many people,” says Maria on the flier publicizing the event.
The blood drive is being run by the American Red Cross and, as with all blood drives, is open to the public. It will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
New donors are needed. To encourage them, the Red Cross will issue $20 Amazon.com gift cards by email to all who give blood during the month of August.
