Greenwich Hospital President Diane Kelly, DNP, RN has announced her plans to retire at the end of this calendar year, culminating a career spanning more than four decades. She has served as the hospital president since June 2020 and has also served as chief nursing executive for Yale New Haven Health since 2022.

Alyssa Arnett, Brandon Farewell and Ashley Ferraro, all of Port Chester, have been named to the SUNY Cortland Spring 2024 President's List. Students must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 during the semester to make the Dean's List. Alejandro is studying Accounting; Arlette is studying Video/Television and Film and Alexa is studying Theater Arts.
Zavier Garcia of Port Chester, a junior who is majoring in English and Theatre and Performance Media at Eastern Connecticut State University in Willimantic, has been named to the Spring 2024 Dean’s List. To qualify for Dean's List, full-time students must complete a minimum of 12 credits in letter-graded courses with an average GPA of 3.5 or higher in the semester.
Abby Zahl of Rye Brook was named to the Spring 2024 President's List at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Miami University students ranked in the top three percent of undergraduate students within each division for the spring 2024 semester have been named to the President's List recognizing academic excellence.
Jordan Franck of Rye Brook, a student in the College of Letters and Science at the University of Wisconsin, Madison has been named to the Dean's List for the spring 2023-2024 academic year. Ellie Goldstein of Rye Brook, a student in the School of Human Ecology, has been named to the Dean's Honor List. To be eligible for the Dean's List, students must complete a minimum of 12 graded degree credits in that semester. Each university, school or college sets its own GPA requirements for students to be eligible to receive the distinction.
Jenna Provenzano of Port Chester and Carly Ceja of Rye Brook have been named to the Spring 2024 Dean's List at the University of Rhode Island in Kingston. To be included on the Dean's List, full-time students must have completed 12 or more credits for letter grades which are GPA applicable during a semester and achieved at least a 3.30 quality point average. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 or more credits for letter grades which are GPA applicable earning at least a 3.30 quality point average.
Alyssa Argueta of Port Chester was named to the Dean's List for the spring 2024 term at the University of Maryland Global Campus in Adelphi. To be eligible for the honor, a student must have completed at least six credits during the term, earned a grade point average of at least 3.5 for the term, and maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.5.

The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles has launched the New York Mobile ID, a highly secure digital version of a state-issued driver license, learner permit or ID on a smartphone. The Mobile ID is a voluntary product designed for the convenience and security of New Yorkers and is available to IOS and Android users. Anyone who has a valid, state-issued driver license, learner permit or non-driver ID can download the secure Mobile ID app through Google Play or the App Store.

The Westchester County Clerk's Office has announced extended evening hours for their popular mobile passport services from 5-8 p.m. at 110 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., White Plains. The U.S. Department of State estimates standard passport processing times at 6 to 8 weeks and expedited at 2-3 weeks, with an additional charge. Remember to bring all necessary documents, like proof of citizenship (birth certificate, consular report of birth abroad, or naturalization certificate) and proof of identity (driver’s license or government-issued ID). For renewal applicants, there are specific guidelines to follow, and for minors under 16, both parents need to be present, unless specific conditions apply. Payment is by money order or check payable to the U.S. Department of State, plus a $35 service fee payable to the Westchester County Clerk (credit card, money order, or check). The trail includes more than 24 distilleries, craft breweries and cideries throughout the region. Gov. Kathy Hochul has designated four more Free Fishing Days in New York this year: June 29 & 30, Sept. 28 and Nov. 11. During these days, the fishing license requirement is waived for freshwater fishing on New York’s waters. The Free Fishing Days program provides a great opportunity for aspiring anglers to try freshwater fishing for the first time or former anglers to reconnect with one of America’s favorite pastimes.
Congregation K.T.I. is participating again this school year in Food 2 Grow On to provide bags of groceries each weekend and during school vacations to alleviate hunger and food insecurity among elementary-school aged children at Edison, Park Avenue and King Street schools in Port Chester. At Congregation KTI it is a Mitzvah (good deed) moment for all to help feed those in the community who are needy. All food collected in KTI’s ongoing drive is being given to the Salvation Army in Port Chester. Food requested includes cans of tuna, chicken, vegetables, beans and fruit as well as pasta, 10-16 oz. bags/boxes of white rice, snacks, shelf-stable milk, healthy cereals, macaroni and cheese and canned meals like Chef-Boy-r-Dee, chili, etc. The food can be left in bins in Leslie Brandeis Novack's driveway at 48 Meadowlark Rd., Rye Brook.
