Easter is Sun., Mar. 31. Also called Pascha or Resurrection Sunday, it is a Christian festival and cultural holiday commemorating the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, described in the New Testament as having occurred on the third day of his burial following his crucifixion by the Romans at Calvary c. 30 AD. It is the culmination of the Passion of Jesus Christ, preceded by Lent, a 40-day period of fasting, prayer, and penance. Area churches will hold special services in celebration of Easter. Please bring the following: a copy of last year’s federal and state income tax returns; W-2 forms showing income from your employer; any 1098 or 1099 forms (examples: 1099-R, SSA-1099); any other information concerning your income and deductions; photo ID and Social Security/ITIN cards; NYS Driver License or ID Card (NYS residents) and bank information if direct deposit of refund or withdrawal of taxes owed is desired.
