Frank James Gabriele, Sr.: WWII vet and P.C. Maintenance Dept. retiree

Frank James Gabriele, Sr., 97, a resident of Stamford, Conn., and former longtime resident of Port Chester, died peacefully at home Mar. 23, 2024 surrounded by his family.

He was born Feb. 27, 1927 in Port Chester to Dominick and Carmella Fortunata Gabriele, who predeceased him, and was raised and educated in Port Chester.

Mr. Gabriele served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was married Jan. 4, 1948 to Assunta Pignataro who died Apr. 20, 2021.

He was a retired employee for the Village of Port Chester Maintenance Department.

Besides his wife, he was predeceased by his sons Frank Gabriele, Jr. and Dominick Gabriele, daughter-in-law Linda Gabriele and his siblings Rosie Gabriele, Marie Lamberti and Sue DeCarlo.

Mr. Gabriele is survived by his sons Joseph Gabriele (Lisa) of Stamford and Robert Gabriele of White Plains, daughter-in-law Jenette Gabriele of Brookfield, Conn., 10 grandchildren: Jacki-Lyn Peguero, JoAnne Arnold, Jessica Gabriele, Stephanie Pagnotta, Melissa Daly, Robert Gabriele, Michael Gabriele, Dominick Gabriele, Lindsay Gibson and Frank Gabriele and 18 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were private.
