John Joseph (Jr.) Krinsky: Korean War vet and P.C. Schools custodial engineer

John Joseph (Jr.) Krinsky, 89, a lifelong resident of Port Chester, died Mar. 21, 2024.

He was born Jan. 28, 1935 in Greenwich, Conn., to John and Mary (née Melillo) Krinsky.

Mr. Krinsky graduated from Port Chester High School, served in the Army during the Korean War from 1955-1957 and worked for the Port Chester-Rye Union Free School District as a custodial engineer.

In October 1959, he married Kathleen Hogan at their parish, Corpus Christi Church in Port Chester.

He was predeceased by his wife and sister, Betty DiDomizio, and is survived by his children: Kathleen Krinsky-Petrilli (Ed), Barbara Krinsky and John Krinsky (Kim) and four grandchildren: Cameron Krinsky, Kayla Petrilli, Linda Petrilli and Spenser Petrilli.

Mr. Krinsky loved his fur grandbaby, Monty.

He had been an avid Yankee fan since childhood and enjoyed gardening, trips to the casino and meeting his friends at Dunkin Donuts for coffee.

Funeral services were private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project or the ASPCA.
