John Tutera: Retired P.C. school custodian and Rye Brook crossing guard

John Tutera, 79, a lifelong resident of Port Chester, died at home Mar. 27, 2024 surrounded by his family.
He was born Apr. 18, 1944 in Port Chester to Joseph and Josephine Carrieri Tutera, who predeceased him, and was raised and educated in Port Chester.
He was married Apr. 19, 1970 in Port Chester to Barbara Gentile.
Mr. Tutera was a retired custodian for the Port Chester Public School System and then worked for the Village of Rye Brook Police Department as a school crossing guard.
He is survived by his beloved wife Barbara Tutera, sister Julie Vita and her husband Joseph and brother Joseph Tutera and his wife JoAnn, all of Port Chester, and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephew.
Funeral Services will be private.
