As the lacrosse season comes to an end, the 2024 Blind Brook boys’ varsity team has a lot to look back on.

The first round of playoffs for the Trojans was at home on Friday, May 17 against North Salem. The game came out on the successful side for Blind Brook letting them take home their last win of the season.

The team showed lots of Trojan pride that day, summing up 15 goals. The final score of 15-1 gave Blind Brook another win to add to their list of victories.

Ethan Carey got two goals and one assist. Hudson McRedmond had three goals and Michael Berman Annunziata added two. McRedmond had one assist and Berman Annunziata had four. Chase Katz added three goals to the scoreboard and helped his teammates with three assists. Tyler Taerstein had one goal and passed off three assists as well. Zach Taerstein added a goal to the scoreboard and had one assist. Seth Low scored a dominant goal for his team on defense. Jack Mallah got one goal and Gavin Zislis had one goal and one assist.

The Trojans’ last game ended in defeat away against Bronxville on Monday, May 20 in the second round of the playoffs. It was a tough loss for Blind Brook because it meant the season was over and the seniors had played their last high school game ever.

Senior McRedmond and junior Zach Taerstein each had one goal. Senior captain Berman Annunziata and sophomore Katz had one assist apiece while Tyler Taerstein contributed one goal and one assist.

The game ended with a 10-3 score, but the Trojans had a lot to be proud of.

Coach Jason Einaugler expressed some words about the season coming to an end and only looking at the bright side for what the future holds for his team.

“My players finished the season strong, and I am very proud of them,” he said. Simply but very powerfully, Coach Einaugler showed his dedication and passion for this group of boys. He strengthened many of the team's weaknesses all season, getting them to work hard every day.

Each practice brought about major improvement to the team’s success throughout the season, one in which they made the playoffs and went further than expected.

Captains Low, Berman Annunziata, and Ethan Leland were all crucial players on the squad this season, helping guide and lead their team to success.

Leland, the goalie, was a backbone of the Trojans this year, helping his teammates on the field during games as well as on the sidelines.

Each player showed improvement, strength, and sportsmanship. As Coach Einaugler said at the beginning of the season, the goal was to outwork everyone, and that is just what the Trojans did. Through any losses that may have gotten in the way, the team never backed down and kept their feet moving up until the last second of every match.

This year was marked by significant milestones, including clinching a spot in the playoffs and lasting two games.

The team ended their regular season with a record of 9-6 and made it 10-7 including playoffs.

As the season ends, the Blind Brook Trojans can continue to hold their heads high, proud of their accomplishments and the bonds they have made.

The dedication and spirit displayed by the team have left a lasting impact on the community and set a high standard for all future players.

The foundation laid this season promises continued success. With a strong core of returning players and the experience every player gained, the team is poised for another successful run next year.

As the Blind Brook Trojans close their 2024 season, they do so with a sense of accomplishment and pride. The bonds formed, the lessons learned, and the memories made will last long after that final game.
