John J. Dolan, Jr.: Founder of The Ambassadors

John J. Dolan, Jr., 86, a resident of Greenwich, Ct. and father of a Port Chester man, died Oct. 12, 2024.

He was born Mar. 15, 1938 to John J. Dolan, Sr. and Astrid Jansson Dolan who predeceased him. He was raised and educated in the Bronx.

He was married Dec. 24, 1967 in Yonkers to Mary Lopez.

Mr. Dolan was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

His passion was music; he was an accomplished musician and was one of the founding partners of The Ambassadors, now known as Ambassador Event Production. 

He is survived by his wife Mary of Greenwich, his sons John J. Dolan III (Joyce) of Kennett Square, Pa., Christopher Dolan of Kissimmee, Fla., Matthew Brian Dolan (Dawn) of Port Chester, and daughter Kim Dolan (Jenice) of Asbury Park, N.J.; grandchildren Pablo Bicca, Bradley Dolan (Miriam), Pamela Dolan (Cooper) and Maeve Petrizzi-Dolan, great-grandchildren Briella Cheatwood, Gianna Cheatwood and Cameron Cheatwood, and cousin Chris Stranahan of Newark, Del.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Thurs., Oct. 24 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc., 40 Leicester Ave., Port Chester.
