Letter: Have you had enough of Dems running our country?

October 23, 2024 at 10:03 p.m.

These past few weeks the people of the Southeastern United States were pummeled by two massive hurricanes, the worst storms in over 100 years. I used to live in Florida during the fall and winter, and I went through two hurricanes, but not as powerful as the past two. It was a frightening experience, and I can only imagine what the people in the South must be going through—no power, no fresh water, no transportation, etc.—just horrible.

During this crisis, Secretary Mayorkas comes on television and says that we have no money for these people; FEMA is out of money, what!* We just spent a billion dollars on the invaders from the southern border which, by the way, both Mayorkas and Kamala Harris keep saying the border is secure.* How many homes could that money have built for our veterans, yet the Biden administration keeps pumping in the cash, it is disgraceful. That’s what you get when Democrats run a country. Have you had enough? Do any of those reading this letter believe what they are doing? Open your eyes. Do you want this to continue?

Next, we just sent millions to Lebanon, yes to the country that is a staging area for Hamas and Hezbollah, two radical organizations that bring death into the world indiscriminately. Who in the Biden administration authorized this deal? We send money all over the world—Zelensky comes here and kisses a few butts and goes home with another eight billion dollars—that almost brings his total to $200 billion.*

We finance a third of the cost of NATO. Countries are constantly trying to join NATO so we can protect them. Sweden and Finland just got in. Did they or any other nation offer to help our citizens? Where are these countries who bleed us and then forget about us? What about the Europeans, where are they? I think only Canada has helped us. I would like to know if any other country has pitched in. It’s about time these countries stopped drinking the mother’s milk of America. It’s time to turn off the faucet and let them fend for themselves. Have we not done our share? Let them go to China or Russia and see what happens!

*This statement is incorrect. It is not FEMA but the Small Business Administration disaster loan program that is out of money after two major hurricanes.

*No funding for FEMA disaster response was diverted to support border related issues.

*This number is bloated. The correct number is $64.1 billion.
