The Blind Brook PTA Fall Fest will take place Sat., Oct. 26, 12-4 p.m. at Mohawk Day Camp, 200 Old Tarrytown Rd., White Plains.  Clay Art Center, 32 Beech St., Port Chester will offer Around the World in Clay, a free after-school clay program for Port Chester public school students in grades 2-12, Mon., Oct. 30-Dec. 19. The program teaches students about the history and importance of ceramics in various cultures around the world, while also giving each student the freedom to interpret and create themed projects using their own unique perspective and imagination. Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights, begins Fri., Nov. 1 and continues for 5-6 days. It symbolizes the spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance." During the festival, celebrants illuminate their homes, temples and workspaces with diyas (oil lamps), candles and lanterns. Another aspect of Diwali is remembering the ancestors. Food is a major focus with families partaking in feasts.

A Fall Seed Swap will be held Sat., Nov. 2, 10 a.m.-12 p.m. in Pine Ridge Park, 17 Mohegan La., Rye Brook. Pick up native-friendly plant, flower and/or vegetable seeds for your home. Also bring any of your extra seeds to “swap”—not required. Hosted by the Rye Brook Sustainability Committee in partnership with the Port Chester Sustainability Committee.
