Letter: What’s at stake in this election

When will voters in this ultra liberal society of New York come out of their democratic stupor? Even a Kennedy, of all people, came to the realization that his party had veered so far to the left of what it had been under his slain uncle as to appear almost criminal. “It has become the party of censorship, corruption, Big Pharma, Big Tech, Big Ag, and Big Money,” admitted Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. at a Trump rally in Arizona. Trump himself, a staunch Republican, agreed that “gone forever is the old Democratic Party of FDR, JFK…even Bill Clinton.” And Clinton, by the way, having brought up the topic of the murder of nursing student Laken Reilly by an illegal immigrant with ties to the Tren de Aragua gang, confessed to the failure of his party by saying that “if they’d all been properly vetted that probably wouldn’t have happened.”
And now, on the verge of veering even further left after kicking Joe Biden out of the race, the Democratic apparatus has chosen to represent the party its candidate of “diversity, equity, and inclusion”; but, as Vice Presidential hopeful J.D. Vance reiterated at Trump’s rally on Sunday, “Governor Tim Waltz has the toughest job in the world; he has to convince the American people that Kamala Harris is going to somehow fix the very problems that she has created over the last four years. He’s gotta pretend that Kamala Harris didn’t open up the southern border and let millions of illegal aliens in, even though we know she did…and he’s gotta pretend that Kamala Harris actually has ideas in her head for how to govern the United States of America. Now, if you are the praying type, please say a prayer for Tim Waltz, because they’re asking him to do the impossible.”
That they’re asking him to do the impossible is evident from Harris’s reply that she “grew up in a middle class family” after being asked for specifics as to how she’ll make life more affordable, or that she cooked hash browns at McDonald’s after being asked how she’ll close the southern border. Sure, the “candidate of change” will fix everything, but what has she been doing since day one of her vice-presidency? Indeed, what would she accomplish after saying that “nothing comes to mind” when asked what she would do differently compared to Joe Biden?
The hypocrisy of the Democratic Party has now come full swing. We are constantly reminded of the insurrection at the White House; but seldom if ever of the arson, looting, and chaos that was a far greater threat to democracy following the death of George Floyd. We constantly hear about “the threat” to “a woman’s right to choose,” but not about the over one million fetuses murdered just in the U.S. last year whose right to choose wasn’t even considered. We constantly hear about big-time donors to Republican politicians, but nothing about the even bigger big time donors such as George Soros whose bankrolling of “progressive” district attorneys has contributed to the ever increasing bloodshed on the streets.
Because the Democratic Party has nothing solid to stand on in their quest for the presidency, in their insane desperation they can only resort to likening Trump to Hitler. Well, we had quite a benevolent “Hitler” in office for four years, under whose leadership inflation was at an all-time low, illegal immigration was but a trickling of what it was to become, and—unlike what happened in 1939—the U.S. did not launch a world war. Harris has even resorted to calling Trump “fascist.” I doubt that she even knows the meaning of the word. In fact, in this regard, too, her party continues with its hypocrisy in wanting to pack the court, eliminate the electoral college, and—as Elon Musk discovered with his takeover of Twitter—suppress free speech. Plus they’ll call Trump a “dictator,” even though they’ll dictate to us that women’s sports teams must accept transgender athletes, that parents have no right to oppose the “woke” agenda being pushed in the public schools, and that children have a right to change their sex against parents’ objections.
That iconic photo of Trump raising his fist alongside the American flag after miraculously evading an assassin’s bullet epitomizes the kind of leader that Trump is and will continue to be. In a worldly sense, there is something messianic about this man who has survived impeachments, attempts to bankrupt and imprison him, and even two attempts to assassinate him. Any other human being would have buckled a long time ago under far less pressure. Yet, “as sure as the American flag still waves, Donald Trump still stands, ready to fight, ready to win, and ready to make America great again.” As Vance pointed out, “Trump gave up the easy life to save America.” There is no comparison between a cackling Democrat and a real leader.
When asked by CNN whether she had made any mistakes as Vice President, Kamala Harris answered, “In my role as Vice President, I mean, I’ve probably worked very hard at making sure that I am well-versed on issues, and I think that is very important. It’s a mistake not to be well-versed on an issue and feel compelled to answer a question.”
Whatever that may mean, it certainly suffices to show that this woman is the polar opposite of a Margaret Thatcher, and that to vote for such an empty-headed representative of D.E.I. to whom “nothing comes to mind” merely because of her gender, her race, or a dislike for Trump, is sheer lunacy.
