A tradition based in philanthropy is becoming rooted for a group of young BelleFair residents.

For the second consecutive year, a Legendary Circle 4-year-old set up a bake sale and lemonade stand in July to raise money for the American Indian Foundation. This year, however, she was able to recruit more friends and gather more funds to help the cause.

Ayra Chandarana and her friends Aayush Rawal, Shireen Kaul, Ravya Jha, Reha Prathy, Rohan Prathy and Bhoomi Dharmashankar raised over $500 on July 22 for the organization driven to help underprivileged youth in India. They were helped by their younger friends and family members Alyssa Desai, Kiara Jha, Kiana Desai and Naisha Battiwala.

According to Chandarana’s mother, Teena Angale, the donation was double what they were able to gift last summer.

“At such a young age, they were able to bring together our Rye Brook community behind a great cause,” Angale said, thanking the community for supporting their endeavors.

The children worked hard to prepare homemade lemonade, lassis, Indian snacks and desserts as well as custom made bracelets.

Angale hopes their story will be viewed as an inspiration to all Rye Brook children, showing you’re never too young to give back.
