The determination etched on every player's face is the sign of a team on a winning streak. The Blind Brook girls’ varsity soccer team stands undefeated with a perfect 5-0 record.

The team's remarkable performance has been the result of strategic play, skill, and determination. From the beginning of the season to their latest matches, the girls have demonstrated a cohesive and dynamic type of play that has left their opponents in awe.

On Saturday, Sept. 14 the girls faced Hastings on their home field. The game ended in yet another victory for the girls to add to their stats, leaving them with high hopes and many things to continue to perfect at practice.

Both sophomores Lola Gonzalez and Skylar Sommers netted goals with Gonzalez scoring two and Sommers one. Freshman Gabby Cavallo had two assists and Kendall Konigsberg had one. The game ended with a final score of 3-0 allowing the Trojans to take home another dub.

On Monday, Sept. 16 the Trojans traveled to Yonkers Montessori Academy to gain another win.

Sophomores Lola Gonzalez, Skylar Sommers, Sena Tarnoff and Daniela Dluzhevskiy all played important roles in the game. Gonzalez secured two goals, Dzulhevskiy had one, Tarnoff   and Sommers each got one assist, all helping the team take the lead. Senior captain Natalie Carey added one goal to the scoreboard and freshman Gabby Cavallo had one goal and one assist.

Blind Brook ended up winning 5-1 continuing their undefeated season.

The success of the Blind Brook girls’ soccer team can be attributed to their strong sense of teamwork and strategy.

Coach Brian Sullivan has emphasized the importance of communication on the field. His approach has not only enhanced individual players’ skills but also fostered a better mindset that drives the team forward.

Practices have been crucial to the team, focusing on both physical conditioning and important drills. The players’ dedication to their skills and ability to adapt to any opponent’s tactics have been key in maintaining their flawless record.

The girls understand that this undefeated record so far can come to an end at any point in the season which is what makes them push themselves to beat any team that gets in their way. The team doesn't let other opponents psych them out but instead takes it in as white noise.

With a 5-0 record, the Trojans have set a high standard for the rest of the season.

As they continue to face new challenges and strive for further success, one thing is clear: the Trojans are a force to be reckoned with.

As the season progresses, the team's focus is to maintain their streak while also enjoying the journey that comes with being a top-performing team at Blind Brook.

For now, the girls’ varsity soccer team is celebrating their success but knows they are not done. After an away game against Valhalla after press time Wednesday, Sept. 18, the Trojans will face Briarcliff at home on Friday, Sept. 20 followed by an away game against Rye Neck on Tuesday, Sept. 24 and a home contest against Pleasantville on Thursday, Sept. 26. All games start at 4:30 p.m.
