Students in Jennifer Carriero-Dominguez's class stand behind a table piled with age-appropriate history books donated by Hank and Isabelle Birdsall. The Vietnam veteran and his wife, who both worked as teachers in the Port Chester School District, started donating books several years ago in honor of local veterans who died recently. Each book has a name inscribed inside the front cover and will be placed in the Park Avenue School library for students to check out and take home.
