The brand new Toter food scrap receptacles at the far end of the parking lot at Rye Brook Village Hall are more secure than the old ones, keeping out raccoons and presenting a neater image. To open the top to drop in your biodegradable food scrap bags, you must squeeze together the opener on the front of the container and then lift the top with the handle. It’s important to close it back up afterwards (it locks automatically) to make sure no critters can get inside. Through a joint food scrap recycling agreement, these receptacles are available for both Rye Brook and Port Chester residents to use.
