The collected coats, donated by families in Rye, Purchase, Harrison and Greenwich, Conn., filled up two classrooms at The Carver Center. Some coats were sent from as far as Texas and Florida.
Children enjoy a monster-sized Thanksgiving-themed feast at The Carver Center in Port Chester prepared by Chef Gustavo Diaz before receiving coats from The Children's Hope Chest, a non-profit in Purchase that encourages children to help other children. Volunteers from Hope Chest gave 300 brand new coats along with hats and gloves to Carver children during two dinner seatings on Sunday, Nov. 23.

Clark and other members of Christ Church in Rye as well as Rabbi Jaymee Alpert of Congregation KTI in Port Chester passed out 240 turkeys and fixings to needy Port Chester families.
Members of the Rye Brook Seniors donated 20 large turkeys to St. Peter's Episcopal Church for families in need. One senior said as a child she was on welfare and appreciated the help and wanted to assist others. The Rotary Club of Port Chester and Rye Brook arranged a food drive at A&P Fresh in Rye Brook on Saturday, Nov. 22 to benefit the ongoing efforts of Food 2 Grow On to provide nutritional bags of food for Port Chester students to take home with them over the weekend. Students at Corpus Christi-Holy Rosary School in Port Chester organized a food drive during November and collected more than 20 boxes and 15 large bags of food to donate to Caritas, the food pantry associated with Holy Rosary Church, and local senior centers.
