<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;">For the eighth year, the Port Chester Council for the Arts celebrated National Arts in the School Day by organizing activities in the Port Chester School District’s elementary schools. </span>
<p class="Picture">Dressed up as Lavinia Horton, Camille Linen describes what life was like for the 19<sup>th</sup> century woman to Park Avenue School fourth graders. Horton, a schoolteacher and the first female New York state school board member, is memorialized in a mural at the Port Chester post office and portrayed in the musical “Flashbacks,” about the history of Rye Town. </p>
