Annual St. John Bosco Carnival lights up the night with fun

Who said elephants can’t fly? Seven-year-old Veronica Scullion of South Regent Street takes to the sky with a smile on her face and words to scream to her mother, who was watching below.
Echoes of Sinatra rock the stage on Wednesday, Aug. 16.
The St. John Bosco Carnival, formerly known as the Corpus Christi Carnival, had numerous rides, including a caged Ferris Wheel that rocked riders back and forth. It ran from Monday, Aug. 14 to Saturday, Aug. 19.
A tight competition between parents, grandparents and children. The racers took their marks, got ready and away they went!
A race between friends; 5-year-old Christopher Povella (left) secured second place as his friend Luke Doherty, 5, (right) sped past the competition on the giant slide. Seven-year-old James Doherty came in third place; but they all were winners in the end. All the boys are from Rye Brook.
Those brave enough to step on the Ring of Fire found themselves on a dizzying upside-down ride.

The 6-year-old had a ton of fun at the St. John Bosco Parish (formerly Corpus Christi) Carnival on Wednesday, Aug. 16. The carnival continues through Saturday, Aug. 19 on the field behind Corpus Christi Church.
