October 5, 2017 at 5:00 a.m.
Nicolette Lauro, 10th grade, poses with her prizes.
Sophomore Stephanie Villanueva and English as a second language teacher Sandra Savel show off the big bears students could win if they either made five basketball shots in a row or landed a ring around a specific water bottle top.
Lyndsay Rosenfeld’s aim was true – she looped one ring around a bottle, but didn’t manage to hit the right bottle to win a giant stuffed teddy bear.
Fresh burgers and hotdogs sizzle and fill the flagpole plaza with an enticing smoky smell.
Freshman Nina Torres tries her aim as she throws darts at balloons. She popped one, but couldn’t land a second dart to win a prize.
Sophomore Lindsey Co tries to win a monkey plushie by throwing a ping pong ball into fishbowls filled with water.
Port Chester High School senior Kevin Mendosa dunks Peggy Conway during the PCHS Carnival on Friday, Sept. 29. The event, which was sponsored by the environmental club, raised about $4,250 for Hurricane Irma, Maria, and Harvey victims. Administrators and event coordinators are deciding how to split up the donations and what charities should receive them.
