Embracing the morning by walking to school

It’s a busy time of the day for commuters, so a crossing guard stands ready to make walking in front of the Hutch entrance and exit ramps a safe endeavor.
Give us a wave! Yinghao Wu (right) gives a happy wave as he, his 7-year-old daughter Melody, and friends John, 7, and Rosemarie Marciano arrive early to school. The second graders have known each other since preschool.
To celebrate their accomplishment of surviving the morning walk, students sign their names on a poster and receive a mini Converse shoe keychain.
