‘Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown’
December 13, 2018 at 7:18 a.m.
Students in the Saint John Bosco Parish religious education program act like they’re on a wild sleigh ride together while singing a jazzy interpretation of “Jingle Bells” during “A Charlie Brown Christmas” rehearsal in the Corpus Christi-Holy Rosary School gym. The show will be performed for an audience at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, with a suggested $2 donation per ticket.
After singing “The Chipmunk Song,” Marcie (left) and Lucy, played by Milena Martinez and Keyla Guayllasaca, strike a back-to-back pose.
The iconic bird and beagle duo Snoopy and Woodstock, played by Natalie Budde and Mariana Tenecela, dynamically sing “Jingle Bells.”
As Sally (played by Lexi Budde) dictates a letter to Santa Claus to her brother Charlie Brown (played by Gage Saresky), he tries to keep up with her vast number of Christmas wishes.
While explaining all the naughty things they did this year in “Nuttin’ for Christmas,” Sally (left), Linus and Freda (played by Lexi Budde, Titan Saresky and Skylar Kucera-Kondi) incorporate some cute and sassy stances in the number.
The “A Charlie Brown Christmas” cast does various classic Peanuts dances around Schroeder, played by Sergio Toledo, as he plays the piano.
Marcie, played by Milena Martinez, breaks the fourth wall and kicks Musical Director Cindy Moore off the piano for a few minutes to show Schroeder’s not the only one who can play Beethoven.
Once he’s assigned the Shepherd’s role in the Peanuts Christmas pageant, Pig Pen (played by Xander Tamucci) promises to clean up for the performance.
