The Lyon and the bunny
March 29, 2018 at 7:09 a.m.
Even though 1-year-old Vivian Carias keeps trying to run away, she stands still for a second to meet the Easter Bunny (played by Dawn DeLeo) with her sister, 7-year-old Park Avenue School student Evolett and Port Chester Head Start 4-year-old Arianny Lopez. They came to Lyon Park to celebrate Easter in the Park on Saturday, Mar. 24.
Port Chester resident Shirley Tintaya, a 6-year-old at JFK Elementary School, is so excited to meet the Easter Bunny, played by Grant Street resident Dawn DeLeo.
Bundled up Port Chester 6-year-old Andrea Cega watches Port Chester resident Rubia Maricla Alvarado smile as her red pig wins the race.
With an intense stare, William Street resident Christopher Varghese, a 6-year-old Park Avenue School student, closely watches the piggy racing carnival game to see if his or his father Sunil’s pig will come out victorious.
Practicing good aim, 5-year-old JFK Elementary School student Justin Tintaya tosses a beanbag into a festive and hungry looking hippo’s mouth.
Easter is all about the candy. After spinning a carnival roulette wheel, 5-year-old Edison Elementary School kindergartner Yazelia Barros collects her reward.
More than a dozen Easter in the Park goers gather around a table to make spirited arts and crafts to bring home.
