How to guac-a-mole
May 3, 2018 at 8:39 a.m.
Angelo Cambillo gifts a canister of ‘Fiery First Grade Salsa’ to Rafael Palomino, owner of the restaurant Sonora, on Friday, Apr. 20. After Edison School first-graders created a salsa recipe during their “How To” writing lessons in school, they made a batch and brought it to the restaurant at 179 Rectory St., where Palomino taught them how to make guacamole and quesadillas.
Sonora owner Rafael Palomino creates an artful plate of quesadilla slices, guacamole and plantain chips.
Natalie Linares is clearly excited to dig-in, as Sonora waiter Antonio Vega serves her a quesadilla.
Is there any more food coming? Alex Carcamo (right) and Omar Madrid (left) have finished their meal while Ronny Garcia scrapes his plate clean.
There’s no doubt Julian Kind is enjoying his mouthful of quesadilla.
Lunch is over, so it’s time to play! Joshua Garcia and Camila Sigua clap their hands together while singing “double double this this” at the table.
Feeling happy and fancy, Josue Mozo is celebrating his birthday at the restaurant.
With all these salty foods in the mix, Keyri Santos needs a water break.
