Fun, food and thrills aplenty at St. John Bosco Carnival
August 15, 2019 at 4:29 a.m.
Watch out! Port Chester residents Franky Hernandez, 3, and his 2-year-old friend Jayden Burkhead (right) may be having a little too much fun behind the wheel on the toddlers’ car ride on the first night of the St. John Bosco Carnival on Monday, Aug. 12. The fun will continue every night through Saturday at the Corpus Christi Field on South Regent Street starting at 6 p.m.
Even though Rye resident Erick Cedazo is flying 30-feet high in a futuristic car on the Hurricane, his pleasant facial expression shows the 13-year-old completely at ease.
Oak Street resident Sofia Roque, 4, clutches the handle bars in front on her and shrieks with joy over the thrill of the dragon coaster .
Dripping wet after getting drenched in the dunk tank, 14-year-old Brian Collaguazo climbs back into position and nervously waits to inevitably fall into the water again. The Port Chester High School rising freshman is sacrificing his dryness as a volunteer at the carnival.
Elsy Maldonado delicately sprinkles parmesan cheese over pizza fritta before serving the classic carnival treat to hungry patrons. The Harrison resident is volunteering as a longtime member of the St. John Bosco Parish.
Inez Morales, 23, and José Alarcon, 32, share a bucket of rings to try and toss over rows of bottles. The giggling Touraine Avenue residents are attempting to take home a giant teddy bear.
Enclosed in a giant metallic piece of fruit, Port Chester Middle School rising seventh-grader Lucelly Espinosa (left) and her 7-year-old sister Jayleen smile after spinning around on the Apple-Go-Round ride.
White Plains resident Diego Bejarttupa, 11, looks off in thought in the mist of bubbles surrounding his face that are blasting out of his new toy.
