Families find the perfect tree while supporting PCHS band
December 12, 2019 at 7:10 a.m.
Port Chester High School Marching Band parent volunteer Mike Davis prepares a Christmas tree for its new home by cutting off the end of its trunk during the band’s annual Christmas Tree Sale on Sunday, Dec. 8. Throughout the weekend, the band sold roughly 70 trees for $70 each to benefit the Pride of Port Chester.
After finding the perfect Christmas tree, Robert Maxwell carries his new decorative holiday plant off to his home on Wesley Avenue with his daughter Lia, a Port Chester High School junior.
Endearingly referred to as the “delivery boy,” marching band parent and Port Chester Trustee Dan Brakewood loads a tree into his truck to take it to a customer. After the fundraiser, unsold trees are donated to families in need across Port Chester.
