Beats and treats at Lyon Park
July 18, 2019 at 6:37 a.m.
Jillian Larmon, 7, sits front and center before the Showmobile to watch the Bel-Aires, a Westchester-based band who perform hits from the 50s and 60s, at Lyon Park on Friday, July 12. The White Plains resident is visiting family to attend the kick-off Concerts in the Park show, a series sponsored by Port Chester Recreation that features live music and food trucks every Friday night from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
After driving into town from Larchmont, Ann and Ralph Cosme enjoy their night at Lyon Park by sharing a dinner from the Waffle Box food truck.
While waiting for the concert to start, Madison Avenue resident Christine Rosario chats with friends and snacks on her buffalo chicken waffle cone from the Waffle Box food truck. There will be various food truck vendors at every Friday night concert this summer.
Before the concert begins, Suzanne Stockmann relaxes in her lawn chair with a copy of the Greenwich Sentinel. “I’ve been coming to these concerts for years,” the Rye Brook resident said. “I just love these nights.”
Locust Avenue resident Carly Miata bends down to take a video of her 1-year-old daughter Rosemary as she dances to the music on their blanket with Elmo and her father Vinny.
Dancing along to the 50s jams by the Bel-Aires, Putnam Avenue resident JD del Mar does jazz hands while her wife Sara nods her head along to the beat.
