A tasty tour of P.C. cuisine
June 6, 2019 at 5:58 a.m.
Hungry for tacos? Salsa Picante visitors gather around employees Isabela Ordonez (right) and Yoharly Guerrero to try their choice of chicken or pork tacos. The 110 Adee St. restaurant is one of 22 that more than 300 people visited during the annual Taste of Port Chester on Sunday, June 2—raising an estimated $9,000 for the Tamarack Tower Foundation, which gifts grants and scholarships to the Port Chester School District.
Rye resident Christine Iarocci (left) does a quick count of her cash before purchasing Taste of Port Chester tickets from Tamarack Tower Foundation board member Denise Quinn in the Marina Parking Lot.
After climbing into a tall chair at the Colony Grill at 35 Abendroth Ave., 4-year-old Greenwich resident Lily Schacter settles in to munch on a slice of cheese pizza.
At Eugene’s Diner & Bar at 112 N. Main St., Gabriella Kessler’s face glows from the heat lamp as she scoops some fries into a sample cup for restaurant tourers. The Port Chester High School junior is one of 25 students who volunteered at participating restaurants across the village.
There’s no time for pleasantries when yummy food is in the mix. While White Plains resident Dana Greenstein chats with Copacabana staff, her 1-year-old son Michael grabs the cheesy bread ball on her plate.
