The Westchester Amateur Astronomers affiliate gives solar demonstrations at Blind Brook High School/Middle School during CreatiCon, an annual district-wide variety showcase to celebrate creative work and educational opportunities.
James Way resident Sophia Guh takes a trip to the Great Wall of China with a student-made cardboard virtual reality device. “I’m in China,” the 4-year-old exclaims as she walks around the room.
An exhibit room in the Blind Brook Middle School wing displays several creations from Ridge Street School STEAM and art classes. These fourth-grade Minion Chairs projects combined the two by having students artistically design and construct stable seats for the cartoon figures.
In the gymnasium where the Blind Brook High School Jellyfish robotics team does demonstrations, Ridge Street Elementary School first-grader Noah Lupow eagerly tries to steer a robot over a barrier.
Stress is an important issue, so Student Assistance Counselor Monique Tricarico helps students make their own stress balls out of water beads and balloons. Ridge Street fourth-grader Samara Weinfeld is amazed by the bead’s smooth, oily texture.
As Destination Imagination team Donut Say Impossible performs a skit about a hide-and-seek game that defies the rules of time and space in the library, Ridge Street third-graders Victoria Axelrod (left) and Julia Fagan become students at Hogwarts.
