Cozy up with a book
May 9, 2019 at 9:53 a.m.
Roughly 60 comfy-looking kids are enthralled by County Executive George Latimer’s colorful narration of the children’s book “Don’t Turn the Page” by Rachelle Burk. The county executive was one of several volunteers reading to kids at the Port Chester-Rye Brook Public Library on Tuesday, Apr. 30, during the annual Pajama Read Aloud to encourage the love of books through a comfortable environment.
After Rye Brook Police Chief Gregory Austin announces he’s reading author Bill Cotter’s story “Don’t Push the Button,” a child from the crowd screams “why not?!”
As wild as his warm superhero onesie looks, Park Avenue Elementary School first-grader John Giordano is perfectly calm and totally captivated by the tales being read aloud.
Haines Boulevard resident Kelly Castro gives her 3-year-old daughter Sophia sweet cuddles as they sit on the floor and listen to bedtime stories together.
