Creative minds meet and mingle at ninth annual ART10573 show
October 24, 2019 at 6:41 a.m.
Surrounded by her hand-painted wine glasses portraying animals, characters and seasons, Isabella Roca laughs as she talks to art show attendees about her work. The Port Chester High School Class of ‘15 graduate was one of 15 local artists who showcased their work at the annual ART10573 exhibit at the Posillipo Community Center on Sunday, Oct. 20.
Whimsical and spooky canvases and sock creatures created by Port Chester resident Paul Rively embellish the back corner of the Posillipo Community Center.
Manning her table of colorful paintings of varying sizes, Summit Avenue resident Lesley Zlabinger smiles for the camera.
While perusing the different tables, Westchester Avenue resident Patricia Barr and her friend visiting from Cortlandt Manor Bob Westfall chat with Steve Rossi about his colored pencil bird sketches. Rossi, a Yonkers resident, is a Port Chester native.
To create a serene ambiance, Donna Cribari softly plays “Hallelujah” on the piano. The Rye resident played peaceful background music for most of the afternoon.
First-time featured artist Sara Swisher-Anderson shows Sue Covino, an ART10573 event co-chair of Leicester Street, the pendants she can make custom jewelry out of. The King Street resident repurposes vintage pieces to create unique necklaces.
