They’re ‘Not Gonna Take It’: PCMS students want to rock

Bringing Twisted Sister’s intense words to the stage, Drew Boley (played by Gage Saresky) sings “I Wanna Rock” during a rehearsal for the Port Chester Middle School Drama Club’s upcoming production of “Rock of Ages.” The show will perform on Thursday, Feb. 6, at 4 p.m. and Friday and Saturday, Feb. 7-8, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students and seniors, $15 for premium seats and can be purchased before the show at showtix4u.com/event-details/36007.
Motivated to become an actress, Sherrie Christian (played by Lennon Anderson) packs her bags and leaves for Los Angeles despite the disapproval of her mother (played by Angeles Sosa) and father (played by Jacob Gordillo).
Hilda Klinemann (played by Lucia Giordano) makes her intentions to “rid this city of rock and roll” clear while standing next to her obedient son Franz (played by Sebastian Gimenez). To the right, Regina (played by Katherine Calloway) protests while the mayor (played by Liliana Rufo) listens to the debate.
As the lovebirds get to know each other, Drew Boley (played by Gage Saresky) holds up his hand in the shape of a mitten and points to show Sherrie Christian (played by Lennon Anderson) that he’s from Detroit, Mich.
With crazy hair and funky outfits, female ensemble members perform a slow, captivating routine while men lining the sides of the stage sing a rendition of “Waiting for a Girl Like You,” originally by Foreigner.
Lonny Barnett (played by Jordan Rivera) shakes his head after hearing his buddy Drew Boley (played by Gage Saresky) doom himself by referring to Sherrie Christian (played by Lennon Anderson) as “just a friend” on a date.
The villainous figure Stacee Jaxx (played by Xavier Santos-Olson) arrogantly points and waves to his adoring fans at the venue as he sings “Wanted Dead or Alive.”
As the narrator of the show, Lonny Barnett (played by Jordan Rivera) sets the scene before introducing the hard-rock characters.
Leading a shadow of big-haired cast members, Drew Boley (played by Gage Saresky) and Justice Charlier (played by Damaris Ramirez) dance to the echoes of “Nothin’ But a Good Time.”
