For the roaring fifth-graders
June 4, 2020 at 6:43 a.m.
King Street Elementary School parents Jill Geller (left) and Jody Helmle laugh together as they fasten a congratulations sign for Emiliano to the school fence on Monday, June 1. The PTA co-presidents, and other volunteers, put up a customized poster for every fifth-grader so they can rejoice their graduation despite building closures.
King Street School third-grader Juliet Petriella hands a sign to Jill Geller as they contemplate how to arrange them on the fence.
Helping to support his older schoolmates, kindergartener Luke Petriella sits and waits patiently to give the adults a sign for Nicholas to hang. The posters were designed by PTA co-president Jill Geller and printed by Vinnie Pinstripe.
PTA officers and a few of their children hang a customized sign for each of the 63 King Street School fifth-graders graduating at the end of the year.
