The lawn at Rye Town’s Crawford Park transformed into Duloc and the swamp
August 19, 2021 at 6:59 a.m.
Christopher Cilauro of Port Chester as Shrek has a serious conversation with sidekick Connor McCreath of Rye Brook as Donkey in the Port Chester Council for the Arts production of “Shrek the Musical Jr.” performed on the lawn at Crawford Park on July 29 and 30. It featured area children from 7 to 14 years old who started rehearsing for the show on July 5.
One of Lord Farquaad’s guards, Natalie Budde of Harrison, leads the fairytale creatures to their new home in the swamp. At far right, Lexi Budde of Harrison as Pinocchio sings “The Story of My Life.”
Wicked Witch Katherine Callaway of Port Chester and one of the Three Little Pigs, Kendyl Inesta of Greenwich, send Little Ogre MJ O’Neill of Rye Brook out into the world.
Fiona is seen through different stages of her life: Young Fiona (Charlotte Sundheim of Rye Brook), at left, Teen Fiona (Holly O’Neill of Rye Brook), at right, and Princess Fiona (Angelica Bisagni of Greenwich) in the center.
The Duloc Dancers introduce Lord Farquaad (Vincent Sculti of Rye).
The audience for the July 30 evening performance sits under a tent and spills out onto the lawn on both sides.
