Holiday magic illuminates Pine Ridge Park again
December 16, 2021 at 10:03 a.m.
Vipul Nayi, his 3-year-old son Niam and wife Fany share a laugh after taking a family photo with the holiday tree in the background moments after it was ceremonially lit. The Valley Terrace residents are enjoying the night together at Rye Brook’s annual (barring the 2020 COVID year) Winterfest at Pine Ridge Park on Friday, Dec. 3.
Carlton Lane resident Swati Kawli helps her 3-year-old daughter Moira warm up with some sips of hot chocolate.
Is Old Saint Nick visiting Rye Brook soon? He must be, because a Blind Brook High School freshman wind quartet is lighting up the stage with “Santa Claus is Coming to Town.” From the left: Madeline Hirsh, Emily Tian, Charlotte Zelin and Rachel Horn.
After zooming down the obstacle course slide, Victoria Allmashy, a King Street School first-grader who lives in Rye Brook, is all smiles and ready to go again.
Great friends have names alike. Ridge Street Elementary School third-graders Olivia Morales (right) and Olivia Sileo, and 3-year-old Sebastian Morales, get ready to deck the halls at home by making holiday ornaments at the craft table.
Bonwit Road resident Tristan Park was a little too shy to approach Santa Claus alone, so his father John went with him. Afterwards, the 3-year-old gained the courage to tell Santa, who during the rest of the year assumes the identity of Rye Brook Parks Department employee Waz Colantuono, what he really wants for Christmas: dinosaurs.
Children surround the stage in pure joy, eager to see what happens next on the Santa and Elf magic show performed by Pete and Chris Amusements.
Three-year-old Rye Brook resident Mollie Baumrind takes in the dazzling lights around Pine Ridge Park.
Children play while parents mingle in front of the giant inflatable winter obstacle course set up in Pine Ridge Park.
Ramping the crowd up, Village Administrator Chris Bradbury, Mayor Paul Rosenberg, Trustee Jason Klein and his son Alexander take the stage to kick off the tree lighting countdown.
Maywood Avenue residents Ava Ianello, 7, and her 4-year-old brother Andrew are happy to sit with Santa Claus for a picture.
