October 21, 2021 at 6:22 a.m.
William Jaffee (left) and Daniel Greenspan, both of Rye Brook, are all smiles as they approach the finish line right beside one another on the morning of Sunday, Oct. 17. They are two of almost 400 inaugural participants in the Meals on Main Street fun run called Miles for MOMS in downtown Port Chester, waking up early for an 8 a.m. 1.5-mile course while getting their adrenaline pumping to support holiday meals for people facing food insecurity.
First place men’s winner John Barrett checks his time on his wristwatch, just feet away from the finish line in the marina parking lot. The Rye Brook resident finished with a time of 8 minutes and 42.1 seconds.
Port Chester resident Diana Mitova, who was the first woman to finish the race, is just inches from the finish line. She had a time of 9 minutes and 57.9 seconds.

Spectators cheer as Reese (left) and Richie Morrow, both Rye residents, push through their final stride together.
Holly Hyman, of Stamford, Conn., dances to the post-race music with Bella the dog in her arms, as Howie Kurzurk, of Long Island City, adores the fuzzy friend.

Harrison resident Meghan Charles, who co-chaired the event, pushes a stroller with Nell and Mae McGough in it.
Angela Perdomo, of Port Chester, puts her arms in the air in celebration the moment she finishes the course.
Rye resident Laura Linehan (left) and Vanessa Gunther, of Bronxville, throw their arms in the air as they run together toward the finish line.
